Computer Crimes Unit

Today’s information technology presents society with many new opportunities. Unfortunately, many individuals have chosen to use that technology as an opportunity to commit serious crimes. Understanding that the Internet has created new challenges for law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office is committed to combating the growing threat of cybercrime to the public.

The District Attorney's Office has created the Computer Crimes Unit, a group of specially trained prosecutors who work extensively with the Computer and Technology Crime High Tech Response Team (CATCH), a multi-agency task force, to stem the proliferation of cybercrime. The Computer Crimes Unit, in partnership with CATCH, works with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to prosecute cases involving computer hacking, theft of high-tech computer components, counterfeit computer software, theft of trade secrets, Internet auction fraud, and other Internet-related crimes.
