Each year, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office recognizes heroes in our community. On May 17, 2022, DA Michael Hestrin presented the Community Hero Award to three Riverside County educators for their work bringing the Aware to Care Exchange (ACE) to Riverside County.
The former attorney agreed to pay restitution – plus interest -- to the victims. At the time of the plea, he paid a total of $562,854 in victim restitution.
The charges stem from his work as a trusts and estates attorney and from his time as treasurer of the Southwest Riverside County Bar Association.

During an operation conducted throughout April, the Riverside County Child Exploitation Team (RCCET), a multiagency team led by the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation, arrested 26 people for crimes relating to the possession of child sexual abuse material, attempt lewd acts with a child, and various parole violations.
