Fugitive wanted for setting arson fire at Menifee home found and arrested in Arizona

Man had been out of custody for an attempted second-degree murder conviction for less than a week when fire started

A fugitive wanted for setting an arson fire at a Menifee home in June that killed two animals has been located and arrested in Arizona.

Sean Joshua Halas, DOB: 8-23-68, of Menifee, was arrested on Sept. 8, 2020, by Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force Team 6, which includes District Attorney investigators, at a motel in Bullhead City, Arizona. Halas is currently in custody in Arizona awaiting extradition back to California.

Halas was on probation for an attempted second-degree murder conviction and had been out of custody for less than a week at the time of the arson.
