Two defendants have been sentenced in an unemployment benefits fraud scheme, in which they pled guilty to submitting fraudulent California Employment Development Department (EDD) claims, resulting in a total loss of more than $500,000.

Drivers arrested in Riverside County on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of alcohol and drugs will continue facing highly specialized prosecutors funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety and approved by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.

Five of the six people charged with felony vandalism of the Historic Courthouse in July made their first court appearance today, Oct. 6, 2022, at the Hall of Justice in Riverside.

Joseph Jimenez is charged with the murders of Rylee Goodrich, 18, and Anthony Barajas, 19, both of Corona.

On Jan. 22, 1991, human remains were found in a wash area at the base of a hill in the area west of Avenue 62 and Madison Street in Thermal. Only bones were found and appeared to have been in the desert for a lengthy amount of time. The subsequent investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department unfortunately produced no leads and the case, believed to be a suspicious death, went cold. Following a forensic genetic genealogy investigation , the remains have beenidentified as Kathryn Coffey of Baldwin Park.
