The Riverside County District Attorney's Office, Division of Victim Services, is proud to offer a comprehensive Victim Services Internship Program designed for individuals who are passionate about serving victims and witnesses while gaining valuable experience within the criminal justice system.

This immersive internship provides participants with the opportunity to closely shadow experienced Victim Services Specialists and develop a strong understanding of victim advocacy, crisis response, and the criminal justice process. Interns receive hands-on training while observing and assisting with a variety of responsibilities that support victims and witnesses throughout their involvement with the justice system.

Throughout the program, interns assist with both direct victim services and administrative responsibilities. Under the guidance of Victim Services Specialists, interns may assist with client support, court accompaniment, resource coordination, case-related administrative tasks, and other activities that contribute to the delivery of compassionate and effective victim services. Interns may also have the opportunity to participate in community outreach initiatives, educational presentations, and special projects that enhance services provided by the Division.

This internship is ideal for students and individuals interested in careers in victim advocacy, criminal justice, psychology, social work, sociology, counseling, or related fields. Participants gain meaningful exposure to multidisciplinary collaboration while developing professional communication, crisis intervention, and victim-centered advocacy skills in a supportive learning environment.

Please note: The Riverside County District Attorney's Office, Division of Victim Services does not provide clinical licensure supervision or supervision hours toward professional licensure requirements.
 

** Applications are only accepted between May 1st and May 31st each year, with the DVS Internship Program running September through the end of May.  

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Interns are expected to commit to one full day per week (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) throughout the duration of the program
• Must pass an extensive background check
• Applicants must be able to commit to a full academic year, running from September through May.
