Riverside County DA's Office Hosts Inaugural Survivors Conference, Celebrating 45 Years of Victim Services
December 4, 2025
The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office marked 45 years of supporting victims of crime by hosting its first-ever S.T.O.R.I.E.S. of Strength Conference: A Gathering of Survivors and Voices, a day devoted to healing, connection, and empowerment.
Held in October, the conference brought together 45 participants whose lives have been forever changed by crime including survivors of violence, family members who have lost loved ones, and longtime advocates. Together, they turned their pain into purpose, shared deeply personal stories, reflected on their journeys, and found renewed strength in the company of others who understand.
S.T.O.R.I.E.S. – short for Stories Told or Read in Empowering Spaces – created a supportive setting where survivors could explore how their voices can inspire healing and drive change. Through storytelling, writing, and art, participants connected their experiences to broader efforts in public awareness, legislative advocacy, and peer support.
Highlights of the conference included:
• “The Power Within” – A heartfelt Survivor Impact Panel
• “Write to Rise” – A reflective writing workshop focused on healing through words
• “Vision and Voice” – A creative collage session honoring each survivor’s personal journey
As the first event of its kind in the county, the S.T.O.R.I.E.S. of Strength Conference marks a significant step forward in the DA’s ongoing mission to support, uplift, and empower victims of crime.
