The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office has created this information page to provide guidance to Federal U-Visa & T-Visa certification applicants. In order for the Riverside County District Attorney to comply with California Penal Code sections 679.10 and 679.11 as well as all other state and federal requirements, any applicant for U-Visa or T-Visa certification must fully complete all the following requested requirements.

  1. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office will only review “I-918, supplement B” or "I-914, supplement B" certification requests for eligible crimes that have been filed by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. If the case was not filed by this office, the case is yet to be filed or the case was filed by a different prosecution agency, please contact the investigating agency or the appropriate prosecution agency for certification. If the case is in review for filing, please contact the investigative agency.
  2. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (with sufficient postage) with your certification request.
  3. Do not send any double sided pages.
  4. The applicant must completely and accurately fill out and submit the “I-918 Victim Acknowledgement” (for U-Visa certification requests) form or "I-914 Victim Acknowledgement" (for T-Visa certification requests) form and submit it with the “I-918, supplement B” or "I-914, supplement B" form.
  5. All applications must include identifying information including applicant’s name, date of birth, address, phone number and any other relevant contact information including contact information for applicant’s representative if applicable.
  6. The applicant must provide all relevant police reports and Riverside County court records and attach them to the application. In the event the police reports are confidential because the case involved a crime against a minor, a sexual assault or a domestic violence related issue, or the reports are unattainable, the applicant must so indicate the reason for not including the reports.
  7. The applicant must indicate whether they are in the process of removal proceedings. Any application that does not distinctly provide notice to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office that the applicant is CURRENTLY in removal proceedings will be processed under the normal timelines.
  8. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office cannot provide legal advice regarding the “I-918, supplement B,” “I-918 Victim Acknowledgement,” "I-914, supplement B," or the "I-914 Victim Acknowledgment" forms. In the event the applicant needs assistance, they are encouraged to consult a private attorney or advocate.
