RIVERSIDE – A Moreno Valley man was charged by the District Attorney’s Office yesterday, August 6, 2025, for the 2006 murder of brothers Louie Joseph Granado, 25, and Glenn Michael Granado, 34.
Richard Ferris, 50, made his first court appearance to be arraigned but was continued on the defense's request to August 19, 2025, at 8:30 am in Riverside's Hall of Justice Dept. 32.
The criminal complaint alleges Ferris is charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, two sentencing enhancements for the personal use of a firearm, and a special circumstance allegation of committing multiple murders.
On January 29, 2006, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shots fired near Pepper Court and John F. Kennedy Drive, Moreno Valley. The two victims were found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle, where they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Extensive investigative work by the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide and Cold Case units identified Ferris as a suspect during the initial stages of the case. Recently, investigators identified additional information and arrested Ferris without incident in Boyle Heights on July 31, 2025.
The case, FERI2504323, remains under investigation and is being prosecuted by Deputy DA Tim Mulhere of the DA’s Homicide Trial Team and Carlos Monagas, Chief Deputy DA of the Felony Crimes Division.
