John Aki - 28 Years
Bryan Boutwell - 19 Years
After nearly two decades of dedicated service to the Riverside County community, Deputy District Attorney Bryan Boutwell has recently retired.
Deputy DA Boutwell’s journey to law began as a second career, leading him to join our office in 2006. Over the years, he served in various prosecution assignments, including the Domestic Violence Unit, Grand Theft Auto, Prison Crimes, Financial Crimes, and Gangs. His expertise was further recognized when he was loaned to the Department of Justice as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for two years, where he prosecuted federal crimes within Riverside County.
In his final role, Bryan served as a Team Leader for our office’s newest prosecutors, a position he held since 2022. His commitment to mentoring the next generation of Riverside County Prosecutors and sharing his wealth of experience, knowledge, and values stands as a testament to his lasting impact on the office.
We extend our best wishes to Deputy District Attorney Boutwell for a well-deserved and happy retirement with his family and friends.
Vicki Weiss - 22 Years
After 22 years of dedicated service at the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, Managing Deputy District Attorney (MDDA) Vicki Weiss has retired, leaving a remarkable legacy of commitment and excellence. MDDA Weiss has been a vigorous advocate for justice throughout her career, consistently demonstrating an unwavering dedication to those she fought for. Her profound knowledge of the law and compassionate approach to victims have earned her the respect and admiration of her peers and the community. As she embarks on this new chapter, her contributions will continue to resonate, serving as a lasting testament to her impact on the legal profession in Riverside County.

Lisa DiMaria - 23 Years
Michael J. Cabral - 38 Years
Assistant District Attorney (ADA) Michael J. Cabral concludes a distinguished legal career spanning nearly four decades, marked by principled leadership, professional scholarship, and an unwavering commitment to justice.
From his early years beginning in 1986 prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases in Los Angeles County, where he founded the Arson Unit and handled complex fraud and integrity matters, to his extensive service with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office, ADA Cabral consistently took on roles of increasing responsibility, including Supervising Deputy District Attorney, Chief Deputy District Attorney, and ultimately Assistant District Attorney.
Across these jurisdictions, ADA Cabral oversaw major operational divisions, led and mentored hundreds of prosecutors and staff, advised County Grand Juries, and shaped specialized units focused on public integrity, family protection, and serious felony prosecutions. Beyond the courtroom, he shared his expertise nationally through legal education, course development, and professional organizations, leaving a lasting impact on the practice of prosecution and arson investigation.
ADA Cabral’s career reflects a legacy of service to the people of Riverside County and the State of California. We extend our sincere gratitude for his extraordinary dedication and lasting contributions to the pursuit of justice.
