Asset Forfeiture Special Fund

Dear Asset Forfeiture Special Fund applicants,

We invite you to apply for this year’s Special Fund Grant Program. The distribution of the funds through the Special Fund Grant Program is determined by a panel consisting of the Riverside County District Attorney, the Riverside County Sheriff, the City of Riverside Chief of Police, and the Riverside County Chief Probation Officer.

These funds are set aside by the Legislature to develop and maintain intervention programs that combat drug abuse and divert gang activity.  The target audience for these funds are high-risk elementary and secondary school age children.  Funding priority will be given to programs that use the money to directly benefit the target audience. Examples of uses of funds include guest speaker fees, computer equipment, printed material, school supplies, transportation to/from activities, etc.  Funds are not intended to cover overhead costs such as rent, utilities, or personnel.  Funds are only available for Riverside County-based programs.

This year, our application process will be entirely online.  You may access the application by clicking on the link below.  All applications must include: (1) a completed/current W-9 form; and (2) IRS Determination Letter (if your organization is an IRS 501(c)(3) recognized organization).  No other supporting documentation other than the online application, will be considered.  Please identify your organization’s social media accounts in the appropriate location on the application, as they will be reviewed as part of the approval process.

Applications can be found online beginning August 8, 2022, and are to be completed online by clicking the link below.   The application deadline for this year is Friday,  September 9, 2022.  In the past, we have received several additional documents about your organization.  Given these unprecedented times, we are only asking for you to upload your W-9 form and if applicable, a 501(c)(3) letter.  However, we are interested in seeing all your outreach that you post publicly on your social media accounts. Please include those links.  If you should have any questions about the application process, please contact us at AFSF@RivCoDA.org. We look forward to reading about your organization.

Respectfully,

MICHAEL A. HESTRIN
